Ms. Piloya Evelyne Gloria

COUNCIL MEMBER (2020-2022)

Ms. Piloya is a female person with Physical disability and a social scientist by profession with a Bachelors degree in Development Studies from Makerere University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation from Uganda Management Institute, Certificate in HIV Counseling, and training of HIV Counselors among others. She currently works with HOMA Farms Limited as a founding director. After working with Africa Women Rising as National Programs Coordinator for 10 years, the former Board Member at Uganda Communication Commission and Board Member at Gulu Disabled Person Union and a student's minister in charge of Persons with Disability while at Makerere University.

As a strong advocate for inclusion and inclusive programming, Ms. Piloya and other members lobbied and advocated for a number of programs and policy change this includes a successful project funded by UK Motivation and Implemented by Gulu Disabled Persons Union called building an inclusive community through disability sports that have birth to the current club of Gulu Wheelchair Basketball at community level. She has not only created awareness about disability issues but the young men and women with disability now form part of the national team of wheelchair basketball while a few have been able to participate at international level.

With 15 years' experience in working with organizations like Africa Women Raising, Gulu Disabled Persons Union and currently HOMA Farms Limited in the rural population and marginalized persons of Northern Uganda, she brings on board team building, inclusive programming and implementation among others.
